FOREWORD
The present terms of sale apply between the ticket office-online boutique of the Association des Rencontres Internationales de la photographie d'Arles, SIRET 309 952 489 00032

Hereafter called “the Association”,

And

Any physical or moral person making a purchase
Hereafter called “the Purchaser”.

On the www.rencontres-arles.com website, shop and ticket office online menu
Hereafter called “the Site”.

The present terms define the modalities of online sales between the Association’s ticket office-shop and the Purchaser from order to payment and delivery.

They govern all the steps necessary for placing the order and ensuring its follow-up between the contracting parties.

Placing an order implies the Purchaser’s full and irrevocable agreement with the present general terms of sale.

The Purchaser declares that he or she is at least eighteen (18) years old and has the legal capacity or parental permission to place an order on the Site.

Article 1.2 : Online shop: product information and availability

1.2.1. The Site presents the basic characteristics of the items offered by the online shop:
• Denominations;
• Delivery methods. Shipping costs are based on the parcel’s weight, type of packaging necessary for shipping and delivery address;
• Price in Euros including tax.

1.2.2. The Association declines responsibility if the presentation contains an error or omission. The texts and photographs describing the items are for indicative purposes only and are non-contractual.

1.2.3. The Purchaser may request specifications on the nature and characteristics of the items offered for sale at any time by sending an e-mail to or calling +33(0)4 90 96 76 06.

1.2.4. The items offered for sale by the Association are those appearing on the Site on the day of consultation by the Purchaser. They are offered for sale as long as stocks last. The Association cannot be held responsible in the event of an error on the availability of the items offered for sale online.

Article 1.3 : Online shop: right of cancellation

1.3.1. Pursuant to article L.121-18 of the Consumer Code, the Purchaser has fourteen (14) days to return, at his or her expense, any item that does not meet with his or her satisfaction for whatever reason. That period begins on the day the Purchaser receives the ordered product. After that period, the delivered items will be considered satisfactory and accepted by the Purchaser and the Association reserves the right to refuse to offer an exchange or a refund.

If the right of cancellation is exercised, the Purchaser will have the choice of either obtaining a refund or exchanging the item for an item of equivalent quality and price (including shipping costs).

The Purchaser must send, at his or her cost, the said item or items in their original packaging and in perfect condition to the following address:

1.3.2. Items returned incomplete, damaged, used or soiled cannot be accepted, with the exception of items whose damage will have been duly noted on the delivery form (according to the modalities specified in article 2.4: online shop: delivery).

1.3.3. The Purchaser is responsible for paying the return costs, with the exception of items whose damage will have been duly noted on the delivery form (according to the modalities specified in article 2.4: online shop: delivery). Any request for a refund must be accompanied by supporting documentation from the Purchaser and may not exceed the cost of a colissimo shipment. The Association will accept requests only if it is the responsible party and if the item returned corresponds to the original statement made by the Purchaser and confirmed by the festival’s Ticketing ans Shop Department.

1.3.4. If a refund is requested, the Association agrees to refund the Purchaser the entire amount paid, excluding return shipping costs, within thirty (30) days at the latest of the date that the right can be exercised. The refund will be made in the name of the Purchaser who placed the order by crediting the bankcard used to make the purchase, by check or by electronic bank transfer.

1.3.5. Pursuant to article L. 121-28 of the Consumer Code, refunds will not be made for audio or video recordings, software unpacked by the Purchaser or periodicals and magazines.

Article 1.4 : Online shop: execution of the order

1.4.1. The order will be executed within thirty (30) days at the latest after its validation by the Purchaser.

1.4.2. If the item ordered is unavailable, the Purchaser will be informed as soon as possible. The Purchaser will be able to choose between having it replaced by another item of equivalent quality and value or cancelling the order and obtaining a refund within thirty (30) days after the date of the request.
If the product cannot be exchanged, the Association reserves the right to cancel the Purchaser’s order and refund the payment collected.

Article 1.5 : Online shop: home delivery

1.5.1. No delivery can be made until after the Purchaser validates the order and makes the payment. The banking payment center concerned therefore will have authorized payment beforehand. If the said center rejects the payment, the order will be automatically cancelled. The Association reserves the right to reject any order from a customer with whom a dispute has not been resolved.

1.5.2. The items are delivered to the address indicated at the time of the Purchaser’s order. It is the Purchaser’s responsibility to verify the delivery address given to the Association, which cannot be held responsible for typographical errors and the consequences, if any, such as a delay and/or delivery error. In that event, the Purchaser is responsible for all the costs of reshipping the order.

1.5.3. The maximum shipping date is thirty (30) days after the item is ordered on the Site. A shipping confirmation e-mail will be sent to the Purchaser with the shipping references if the parcel-tracking option has been chosen.

1.5.4. The Purchaser may have the item sent to a third party by choosing the gift order option when validating the basket. The Purchaser must pay the shipping costs calculated on the basis of the final destination address of the items purchased.

1.5.5. The Purchaser or gift recipient is responsible for inspecting the condition of the packaging and merchandise at the time of delivery and reporting any damage within three (3) days to the Ticketing and Shop Department by sending an e-mail to The Association agrees to reply to the Purchaser as soon as possible.

1.5.6. If the delivered item is defective or substandard, the Purchaser must inform the Ticketing and Shop Department by sending an e-mail to .

Article 1.6 : Online shop: pickup at the shop

1.6.1. The Association also offers a free pickup service at the following address and times:

Opening times during the festival: 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. every day.
Opening times the rest of the year: 10 a.m.-noon/2 p.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Friday (closed weekends and holidays outside the festival period).

1.6.2. Items may be picked up at the shop only after the Purchaser has validated the order and made the payment and the Association has prepared the order. The banking payment centers concerned therefore will have given their payment authorization beforehand. If the said center rejects the payment, the order will be automatically cancelled. The Association reserves the right to reject any order from a customer with whom a dispute has not been resolved.

1.6.3. The maximum order preparation time is thirty (30) days after the item is ordered on the Site. The Purchaser will be notified of the product’s availability by e-mail.

1.6.4. Only the person who placed the order can pick up the item(s) ordered after showing valid ID and receiving the e-mail confirming the order’s availability.

1.6.5. At the time of pickup, the Purchaser is responsible for checking the condition of the merchandise. No order picked up in person can be exchanged or refunded.

Article 2.2 : Online ticketing: ticket information and availability

2.2.1. The term “ticket” means every kind of ticket offered online, including all of the following (non-exhaustive list): passes, single venue tickets, professional badge, night events tickets, etc.

2.2.2. The prices of tickets for exhibitions or events are in Euros and include all taxes.

2.2.3. The availability of tickets and badges is in real time.

2.2.4. Prices may vary depending on the event and/or exhibition. The Association reserves the right to change its prices at any time, but tickets will be billed on the basis of prices in effect when the order is recorded.

2.2.5. Exhibition and/or event tickets remain the property of the Association until the payment is completely and definitively collected.

Article 2.3 : Online ticketing: purchase of named tickets

2.3.1 When making an online purchase, before validating the basket the Purchaser must specify the last name, first name and birth date of each holder of a named ticket (reduced price or free tickets and badges). Each ticket holder is issued only one named ticket.

2.3.2 After validating the order and payment, for all named tickets (reduced price or free tickets and badges) the Purchaser will receive a purchase confirmation e-mail only, without an attached e-ticket.
Named tickets can be picked up at the Association’s ticket desks according to the modalities specified in the confirmation e-mail after showing ID and, if necessary, proof dating back less than three months for each holder of a named ticket.

Article 2.4 : Online ticketing: cancellation and refund at the Purchaser’s request

2.4.1 Pursuant to article L. 121-28 of the Consumer Code, tickets to events or exhibitions are neither exchangeable nor refundable.
However, the Association will agree to exchange or cancel the order if the request is made:
• upon presentation of a medical certificate;
• upon presentation of a death certificate of a close one;
• in case of a technical error on the part of the Association on the online ticketing site of the Rencontres d’Arles.
This request must be made by email to the following address: , accompanied by a supporting document and the order confirmation email, before the 10th of October of the concerned festival edition.
If the request is accepted, the Purchaser will be refunded within thirty (30) days after the request date by the Association for the cancelled tickets.

2.4.2. No additional expenses of any kind whatsoever will be refunded or indemnified.

2.4.3. A ticket to an exhibition or event cannot be refunded, even if it is lost or stolen. However, a duplicate can be requested according to the modalities specified in article 2.8 in order to invalidate the original ticket and take advantage of the same right to admission.

2.4.4. A ticket cannot be re-sold at a price higher than the one printed on the ticket.

Article 2.5 : Online ticketing: cancellation and refund by the Association

2.5.1. A refund for events can be requested only for events cancelled by the Association without any possible postponement.
A refund for exhibitions can be requested only if the venue has been temporarily or definitively closed, provided that the ticket has not been stamped.
No request for the refund, total or partial, of a flat-fee formula such as a badges or pass can be granted.

2.5.2. The Association agrees to inform the public about exceptional temporary or definitive closings, postponements and/or cancellations by all the following means of communication: information at ticket desks, social media, institutional website and online sales website.
The Association promises to contact, insofar as possible, those likely to make a refund request meeting the criteria listed in article 2.5.1.

Article 2.6 : Online ticketing: issuing tickets
Tickets available for sale online can be of different kinds: : Tickets, E-tickets, Badges, E-badges, and different prices: full price, reduced price and free.

2.6.1. Full-price ticket

After purchasing a full-price ticket(s) on the online sales Site, the Purchaser will receive a confirmation e-mail at the e-mail address indicated at the time of purchase, in which the full-price ticket(s) purchased can be downloaded.
The Purchaser can then:
• Print out the ticket at home according to the rules set forth below in article 2.6.4. ;
• Download the ticket on a tablet or smartphone (staff at venue entrances are not authorized to handle your devices. The Purchaser must show the ticket without the employee handing the device) ;
• Proceed to a ticket desk to pick up the ticket if unable to print it out or show a mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone.
Purchasers can find their tickets at any time available for downloading in the My Account space.

2.6.2. Reduced price or free ticket

As noted in article 2.3.2, for free or reduced-price tickets, the Purchaser will only receive a confirmation e-mail without a downloadable e-ticket.

In that case, the tickets must be picked up at the Association’s ticket desks after showing ID and, if necessary, proof of status dating from within less than three months.

2.6.3. Badge

As noted in article 2.3.2, for the purchase of a badge, the Purchaser will only receive a confirmation e-mail.

Once the supporting documents are validated and once payment is completed, the Purchaser can download their e-badge(s) from their My Account space if they selected this option.
If the Purchaser chose a physical badge, they can pick it up from the festival office, 34 rue du Docteur Fanton, starting from July 1st 2024 from 9:30am to 7:00pm.

2.6.4. The Purchaser can print out tickets at home. Each ticket is in PDF format. To be valid, a ticket must be printed in portrait (vertical) format, without changing the printing size, on a letter-sized sheet of white paper blank on both sides. One ticket corresponds to each admission purchased. Before purchasing the ticket, the Purchaser must check to make sure he or she has the adequate equipment to print out the PDF file.

2.6.5. Security: the tickets issued have a unique bar code. Their validity is checked and registered with a bar-code reader at the entrance to each venue. It is impossible to be admitted to the same place with the same ticket several times. The reproduction of tickets is forbidden and will not be of any benefit to the Purchaser.

Only the first person to show the ticket will be admitted. He or she is presumed to be the legitimate ticket-holder. Reproducing, duplicating or counterfeiting the ticket in any way or making it available for such purposes is prohibited.

The Association may refuse admission when several printings, reproductions, copies or imitations of a home-printed ticket are in circulation and the holder of a printed, reproduced, duplicated or copied ticket has already been admitted.

The Association is not required to check the identity of the ticket-holder in order to verify if he or she is the Purchaser. Nor is it required to verify the ticket’s authenticity. An imitation or copy cannot be identified as such when being checked for admission to the venue.

2.6.6. The Purchaser can purchase and immediately obtain full-price tickets on any computer with an Internet connection. Purchasers can download tickets in the My Account space at any time until the expiration date.

4. My tickets: click on the order number with the tickets you would like to print out.
5. Detail of the order: click on “Download the e-tickets”.

The Purchaser will take all the precautionary measures required to keep his or her password secret and prevent any unauthorized person from using it or committing an infraction.

2.6.7. The Association declines all responsibility for any mishaps that might occur while ordering or processing a home-printable ticket caused intentionally or as a result of carelessness in case of loss, theft or illicit use of the ticket.

2.6.8. Tickets bought online may only be paid for by bankcard. It is debited as soon as the order is definitively validated. The bankcard is debited independently of retrieving the tickets. The order confirmation and proof of payment are sent to the e-mail address the Purchaser provided during the ordering process.

Article 2.7 : Online ticketing: Loss, theft or damage of a ticket or badge

If a ticket or badge purchased online is lost, stolen or damaged, the Purchaser has various ways to obtain a duplicate.

2.7.1. For full-price tickets, the Purchaser can reprint the e-ticket, find it in the My Account space created at the time of purchase or request a duplicate at a ticket desk.

2.7.2. For a reduced-price or free ticket or badge, the ticket/badge-holder must show ID at the ticket desk in person to obtain a duplicate of the original ticket/badge.

2.7.3. Only one duplicate will be issued per ticket-holder. Issuing a duplicate automatically deactivates the original ticket/badge.

Article 3 : Specific terms of sale applicable to youth workshops

Hereafter called “the Workshop”,

Article 3.2. : Workshop: information on services and availability

3.2.1. The Site presents the Workshops’ basic characteristics on the online shop:
• Date and times ;
• Presentation of the Workshop’s topic and themes;
• Price in Euros including tax.

3.2.2. The Association declines responsibility for any errors, omissions or modifications with regard to the Workshop’s content. The photographs and texts describing the Workshops are only indicative and have no contractual value.

3.2.3. The Purchaser may request specifications on the Workshops’ nature and characteristics at any time by sending an e-mail to or calling +33(0)4 90 96 76 06.

3.2.4. The Workshops offered by the Association are those appearing on the Site when the Purchaser consults it. Places are subject to availability. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

3.2.5. If there is a mistake with regard to the availability of the Workshop reserved, the Purchaser will be notified as soon as possible and given the possibility of exchanging the Workshop or cancelling the order and being refunded the amount paid to the Association within thirty (30) days after the request date.

If an exchange is impossible, the Association reserves the right to cancel the Purchaser’s order and refund the payment.

Article 3.3. : Workshop registration

Registration for a Workshop is subject to the number of places. It is not definitively validated until after the entire Workshop fee is received according to the payment methods proposed on the Site.

Registration becomes effective when payment for reservations made on the Site or at the Association’s ticket desks is received.

No registration or reservation can be made by telephone.

Article 3.4 : Number and age of participants

The number of Participants is limited to 12, as stipulated in the description of the Workshop. Youth Workshops are only for children aged between 6 and 12 on the day of the Workshop.

Article 3.5 : Workshops: right of cancellation

Pursuant to article L. 121-28 of the Consumer Code, participation in Workshops cannot be refunded.

However, the Association could agree to exchange or cancel the order if the request for an exchange or a refund is made within fourteen (14) days before the Workshop starts. The request must be sent by e-mail to .
If a cancellation is made within the aforementioned allotted time, the amount paid will be refunded. After that time, no refund is possible unless the Purchaser provides proof of force majeure (medical certificate, death certificate, etc.).

Article 3.6 : Workshops: cancellation

3.6.1. A Purchaser may cancel participation in a Workshop, provided that the Association is informed at least fourteen (14) days before the Workshop date. This decision must be sent by e-mail to .

If a cancellation is made within the aforementioned allotted time, the amount paid will be refunded. After that deadline, no refund is possible unless the Purchaser provides proof of force majeure (medical certificate, death certificate, etc.).
The fee for any started Workshop is due in full except in cases of force majeure as mentioned above.

3.6.2. The Association reserves the right to change the program of or cancel a Workshop if the instructor can no longer teach it.
In the event of cancellation, the Association agrees to refund the full amount paid at the time of registration but no additional costs of any kind whatsoever will be reimbursed or indemnified.

Article 3.7 : Workshops: responsibility, insurance and protection of minors

The registration of any minor requires permission from a parent or legal guardian accompanied by a signed written consent form. The Association reserves the right to refuse minors if the parent’s or legal guardian’s duly completed and signed consent form is not submitted on the day of the Workshop.
The consent form is completed during the reservation process. The Purchaser has to go to the entrancce of the Workshop on its date in order to sign it.

Article 4 : Specific terms of sale applicable to photography courses

Article 4.2 : Courses: information on services and availabilities

4.2.1. The Site presents the basic details of the courses offered on the online shop:
• Date and number of days ;
• The Course’s topic and themes ;
• Price in Euros including tax.

4.2.2. The Association declines responsibility if the presentation contains an error or omission. The texts and photographs describing the Courses are for indicative purposes only and are non-contractual.

4.2.3. The Purchaser may request specifications on the nature and characteristics of the Course at any time by sending an e-mail to or calling +33(0)4 90 96 76 06.

4.2.4. The Courses offered by the Association are those appearing on the Site on the day of consultation by the Purchaser. Places are subject to availability. They are available on a first come, first serve basis.

4.2.5. If there is an error concerning the availability of the reserved Course, the Purchaser will be notified as soon as possible and given the possibility of exchanging the Course for a Course of equivalent value or cancelling the order and being refunded within thirty (30) days after the request date.
If an exchange is impossible, the Association reserves the right to cancel the Purchaser’s order and refund the payment collected.

Article 4.3 : Courses: how to register

4.3.1. Registration in a Course is subject to the number of places. It is not definitively validated until after the entire Course fee according to the payment methods proposed on the Site and the Participant’s information are received.
Unless otherwise noted in the Course description on the Site, the list of participants is compiled in the order that payment is received.
No registration or reservation can be made by telephone.

4.3.2. If a third party purchases a Course, the Participant agrees to communicate, within fifteen (15) days after the order, his or her name, contact details and confirmation of the choice of Course (particularly in the case of a gift voucher), subject to the number of places.

4.3.3. Any special request (health, accessibility, etc.) must be made on the registration form at the time of registration. The Association will do its utmost to take these requests into account but can in no case guarantee they will be met unless it is confirmed in writing. In some cases, special requests may incur additional costs. In that event, the Association will notify the Purchaser.

4.3.4. The Participant must respect, all Course long, the rules and regulations that will have been transmitted to him or her by the Association before the Course. If a Participant’s attitude during the Course is deemed harmful, damaging, dangerous or disruptive to an Instructor, other Participants or equipment, we reserve the right to expel the Participant from the Course at any time. In that case, the Participant cannot claim any refund, compensation or indemnity and the Association reserves the right to request the reimbursement of costs.

Article 4.4 : Number of participants/waiting list for the Courses

4.4.1. The number of Participants depends on the type of Course, as stipulated in the Course description. The following is an indicative, non-exhaustive list:
• 10 people for the 4 or 5 days spring and summer Courses ;
• 8 people for the 2 or 3 days weekend Courses ;
• 10 people for the one-and-a-half and one-day Courses.

4.4.2. Participants are asked to indicate a second choice at the time of registration in the event that the Course is fully booked when the Association receives the registration request.

Article 4.5 : Activity declaration number: continuous professional training body

4.5.1. The Association is registered as a training organization at the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture. Consequently, Courses are exempt from VAT. Prices are net of tax.

The Association obtained the Qualiopi certification label on April 2022. It has been delivered for the following category: FUNDING & CONTINUOUS TRAINING copy.

4.5.2. If, at the time of the order, the customer mentions that the Course is financed by an accredited training fund, it is the customer’s responsibility to obtain reimbursement for the Course from that fund.

4.5.3. The financial aid application and a simplified Course convention must reach us by the 1st day of the Course. If the financial aid agreement is not received before the Course starts, the customer must pay the amount due in full and request any reimbursement directly from the accredited training fund.

4.5.4. The website mentions specific fees for Courses in the framework of continuous professional training. Registration in this framework requires the issuing of an estimate valid for one (1) month and a description of the Course given by the Association.

Article 4.6 : Courses: right of cancellation

The Purchaser has the right to cancel within fourteen (14) days after the date of purchase. To use that right, the Purchaser must inform the Association by e-mail and registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt. In that case, no amount will be requested from the Purchaser.

Article 4.7 : Courses: Cancellation and complaint

4.7.1. Any cancellation must be made by sending an e-mail to and a registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt to:

If the Association receives the cancellation request within fourteen (14) days after the date of purchase (see 4.6) and more than forty (40) days before the Course starts, the Association will retain an indemnity of ninety (90) Euros of the deposit paid. If the Association receives the cancellation request within less than forty-one (41) days before the Course starts, the Association will retain an indemnity equal to thirty (30) percent of the Course fee.
If the Purchaser cancels, leaves or interrupts the Course after it starts, an indemnity equal to the full price of the Course will be invoiced.
The amounts due by the Purchaser as indemnification are mentioned as such and cannot be considered tuition fees.
If a Participant cannot attend a Course on account of a duly recognized case of force majeure, only the services dispensed are due on a prorata temporis basis of their value.

4.7.2. The Association reserves the right to cancel any planned Course if the Instructor is unable to teach it.
The Association reserves the right to cancel any planned Course if the number of registered Participants is insufficient twenty (20) days before the Course starts. In that case, the Association will examine other Course options with each Participant. To facilitate this, it is strongly recommended to mention a second choice on the registration form.
If no solution is found, the Association agrees to refund the Purchaser in full.
If the Association cancels a Course, no additional expenses of any kind whatsoever will be reimbursed or indemnified.


4.7.3. If the chosen Course does not correspond entirely to the Participant’s expectations, the Association is available and all ears to any comment during the Course time and at the end of it.
The possibility to change Course, the registration for another session or a refun could be discussed and recorded if it is possible and justified.
A formal complaint can be expressed to the Image Education and Training department’s manager by email at or through a form that can be downloaded on the Rencontres d’Arles’ website.
Article 4.8 : Courses: responsibility, insurance and protection of minors

4.8.1. Courses: responsibility and insurance
The Participants must bring their own photography equipment and/or laptop computer to the Course. The Association cannot be held liable for any damage to the Participant’s equipment during the Courses.
Throughout the duration of the Course, the Participant must take out and provision a civil liability insurance policy covering direct and indirect bodily, material and immaterial damage that may be caused by his or her actions or those of his or her representative(s), in particular during transportation (car, train, boat, etc.) during the Course.

4.8.2. Courses: responsibility and insurance for participating minors
Any registration of a minor is subject to parental permission accompanied by a written consent form signed by the legal representative and health records. In the case of registration without that permission, it is the responsibility of the minor’s legal guardian. The Association reserves the right to refuse minors if the aforementioned documents are not provided by the first day of the Course at the latest.

Article 4.9 : Courses: protection of the right to the image

4.9.1. Courses: protection of the right to the image of persons photographed
Participants who take photographs during a Course must obtain the photographed person’s written consent beforehand. Copies of the consent form will be available from the Instructor.
The Association cannot be held responsible for the circulation of any image. The Participant takes the photographs on a personal basis and guarantees the Association against any action or recourse that might be brought by any person photographed whose right to the image, privacy or any other right may be violated.

4.9.2. Courses: protection of the participant’s right to the image
Registration in a Course implies that the Participant consents to be photographed at the site of the Course and that the photographs thus made can be reused to communicate about the Courses organized by the Association for a period of ten (10) years on all media, including the website and various paper and digital media.

Article 5 : Specific terms of sale applicable to professional badges

Article 5.2 : Professional Badges and E-badges: information on services

5.2.1. The Site presents the basic characteristics of the Professional Badges and E-badges offered by the online shop :
• The type of badge: Professional Badge or E-badge;
• Dates and number of days of validity;
• How to register and obtain the Badge or E-badge;
• Fees ;
• Prices in Euros including tax.

5.2.2. The Association declines responsibility if the presentation contains an error or omission. The texts and photographs describing the badge are for indicative purposes only and are non-contractual.
The Purchaser may request specifications on the nature and characteristics of the Professional Badges or E-badges offered for sale at any time by sending an e-mail to or calling +33(0)4 90 96 76 06.

Article 5.3 : How to reserve a Professional Badge or E-badge

5.3.1. The reservation of a Professional Badge or E-badge is definitively validated only after:

1. A reservation request made on the online ticketing Site by uploading a supporting documents to justify of the professional activity in the area of the image and/or visual arts for each request;
2. The acceptance by the Association of the online reservation request allowing the Reserving Party to access the next payment step;
3. The sales price of the Professional Badge(s) or E-badge(s) is fully paid;
4. The downloading and eventually printing of the Professional E-badge via the Purchaser’s account space after receiving a confirmation email from the Association or the the picking up of the Professional Badge at the Professional Counter of the festival office (34 rue du Docteur Fanton, Arles).

No reservation can be made by telephone. Only reservations paid by administrative remit can be processed by email and paid for with a non-cash payment.
The Association reserves the right to request additional information about the exercise of a professional activity by one or more of the persons concerned before accepting the reservation request.

5.3.2. If the Purchaser requests Professional Badges or E-badges for more than one person, proof of each individual’s professional activity must be provided.
The entire reservation must be paid in full and in a single payment online after the Purchaser has requested and received confirmation for all the Professionals concerned by the request for E-badges only.
For the Physical Badges : • The reservation can be paid in full and in a single payment online after the Purchaser has requested and received confirmation for all the Professionals concerned by the request. The Physical Badges have to be picked up at the Professional Counter of the Association (34 rue du Docteur Fanton, Arles). • The reservation can be paid in full and in single or several payment(s) (one payment per badge) after the Purchaser has requested and received confirmation for all the Professionals concerned by the request if the reservation contains several Physical Badges only at the Professional Counter of the Association (34 rue du Docteur Fanton, Arles). The Physical Badges can be picked up at that time.
Spouses and/or customers/partners of a Purchaser or a Professional may not get a Professional Badge or E-badge unless they can personally prove that they exercise a professional activity in the area of the image and visual arts.

Article 5.4 : Professional Badge: right of cancellation

Pursuant to article L. 121-28 of the Consumer Code, a Professional Badge reservation cannot be refunded.
However, the Association could agree to exchange or cancel the order of one or more Professional Badges if the request is made within fourteen (14) days before the festival starts. The request must be e-mailed to

The amount paid will be refunded if a cancellation is made before the aforementioned deadline. After the deadline, no refund will be possible without proof of force majeure (medical certificate, death certificate, etc.). No refunds will be granted in the case of any Professional Physical Badge or E-badge used, even partially, including in the event of force majeure.
If the refund request is accepted, the Purchaser will be refunded within thirty (30) days after the request date for the Professional Badges by crediting the bankcard used to make the reservation online or by bank transfer if the payment has been made on site or by French check.

Article 5.5 : Professional Badge and E-badge: loss, theft, or damage

If a Professional Badge or E-badge is lost, stolen, or damaged, the Purchaser benefits from several possible solutions to obtain a duplicate.

5.5.1. In case of loss or damage, the Purchaser can find their E-badge on their My Account space, download it and either re-print it or present it on a smartphone. Otherwise, in the case of a physical Professional Badge, it is possible to request a duplicate from the Professional Counter of the Association, upon presentation of an identity proof.

5.5.2. In case of theft of a printed E-badge, the Purchaser can find their E-badge on their My Account space, download it and either re-print it or present it on a smartphone .

In case of theft, the holder of a Physical Professional Badge must go to the Professional Counter of the Association with an ID and the invoice from the purchase to be able to get a duplicate Physical Professional Badge.

5.5.3. Only one duplicate can be made per Professional Badge holder. The delivery of a duplicate entails the deactivation of the original Professional Badge or E-badge.

6.2.3. The Purchaser may request specifications on the nature and characteristics of Photo Folio Review at any time by sending an e-mail to or calling +33(0)4 90 96 76 06.

6.2.4. The Photo Folio Review sessions offered by the Association are those appearing on the Site on the day of consultation by the Purchaser. They are available on a first come, first serve basis and managed in real time.

6.2.5. If there is an error concerning the availability of an expert, the Purchaser will be notified as soon as possible and given the option of cancelling the order and being refunded within thirty (30) days after the request date.
The Purchaser will have the possibility of interacting with another expert available during the desired period.
If an exchange is impossible, the Association reserves the right to cancel the Purchaser’s order and refund the payment collected.

Article 6.3 : Photo Folio Review: how to register

Registration for Photo Folio Review is subject to the number of available places and not definitively validated until after the registration form and payment in full is received according to the payment methods proposed on the Site.

Unless otherwise noted in the Photo Folio Review description on the Site, the list of participants is compiled in the order that payment is received.
No registration or reservation can be made by telephone.

Article 6.4 : Photo Folio Review : right of cancellation and cancellation

Pursuant to article L. 121-28 of the Consumer Code, a Photo Folio Review reservation cannot be refunded.
However, the Association could agree to exchange or cancel a Photo Folio Review reservation if the request is made within ten (14) days before the registration closure (deadline available on the Rencontres d’Arles website).

The amount paid will be refunded if a cancellation is made before the aforementioned deadline, minus seventy-five (75) Euros retained for processing and administrative fees. After the deadline, no refund will be possible without proof of force majeure (medical certificate, death certificate, etc.). Any started Photo Folio Review cannot be refunded if cancelled, including in the event of force majeure.

Article 6.5 : Photo Folio Review : change or cancellation by the Association

The Association reserves the right to cancel any planned Photo Folio Review if the expert is no longer available. In that case, the Participant will be offered the possibility of meeting another expert, depending on remaining availability. If no solution is found, the Association agrees to refund the entire amount the Participant paid at the time of registration by crediting the bankcard used to make the reservation.

If the Association cancels a Photo Folio Review, no additional expenses of any kind whatsoever will be reimbursed or indemnified.

Article 6.6 : Photo Folio Review : responsibility and insurance

The Participants must bring their own photographs and/or laptop computers to Photo Folio Review. The Association cannot be held liable for any damage to the Participant’s equipment during the Photo Folio Review. Throughout the duration of Photo Folio Review, the Participant must take out and provision a civil liability insurance policy covering direct and indirect bodily, material and immaterial damage that may be caused by his or her actions or those of his or her representative(s).

Article 6.7 : Photo Folio Review : responsibility and insurance for participating minors

Any registration of a minor is subject to parental permission accompanied by a written consent form signed by the legal representative. In the case of registration without that permission, it is the responsibility of the minor’s legal guardian. The Association reserves the right to refuse minors if the aforementioned documents are not provided by the first day of the Photo Folio Review at the latest.

Article 6.8 : Photo Folio Review : reproduction and representation rights

Photo Folio Review Participants transfer, free of charge, the reproduction and representation rights of the photographs they take in the framework of Photo Folio Review to the Association for any non-commercial purpose. This transfer, as defined above, is granted non-exclusively for a period of five (5) years worldwide.
The right of reproduction includes the right to reproduce the photographs the Participants make in the framework of Photo Folio Review and/or have them reproduced, by any technical process and on all media (paper, digital, electronic, etc.) and in all formats, in particular with a view to securing saving the images made.
The right of representation includes the right to show all or some of the photographs the Participants make in the framework of Photo Folio Review and/or to have them shown.

Article 7 : Contractual documents
The contract is formed by the following contractual documents in order of decreasing priority:

For all orders:
• The present general terms of sale ;
• The “basket” constituted and completed by the information required to identify the Purchaser (last name, first name, e-mail address and postal billing and/or delivery address if applicable) ;
• The invoice.

Depending on the activity, other documents may be requested:
• The parental consent form for the Youth Workshops ;
• The equipment and photographic practice form for the Courses ;
• A form and proof of professional activity for the Professional Badge.

Article 8 : Taking the order
Any validation of a “basket” by the Purchaser is irrevocable and can be changed only in the limited cases noted in the following articles of the present general terms of sale:
• 1.3 : Online shop: right of cancellation ;
• 1.4 : Online shop: execution of the order ;
• 2.4 : Online ticketing: cancellation and refund ;
• 3.5 : Workshops: right of cancellation ;

The Association retains full and entire ownership of the items, tickets, Workshops or Courses sold until the Purchaser pays for them in full, including fees and taxes.
The Association will not transfer the ownership of a service or ticket purchased by the Purchaser to a third party.
Only the original Purchaser can take advantage of the terms in the present agreement.

Article 9 : Confirmation by e-mail
The following contractual information will be confirmed by e-mail at the time of delivery at the latest:
• The single order number ;
• The amount of the order ;
• For items: the delivery or retrieval method chosen by the Purchaser for items from the online shop ;
• For services: the Association’s delivery method, including attached full-price e-tickets, pick-up points for badges, reduced fares and free passes, etc ;
• The payment method chosen by the Purchaser.

Article 10 : Prices
The prices displayed on the Site are in Euros and include taxes and VAT. They do not include shipping and processing costs. The prices are those in effect on the day of the order. They include the VAT applicable on the day of the order. Any change in the VAT rate will be passed on automatically to the Purchaser without prior notice
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed before the basket is validated and after the delivery address is entered.
For delivery outside the European Union, unless otherwise noted, customs fees and formalities are the exclusive responsibility of the Purchaser, who must verify the possibility of importing the items to the delivery country.

Article 11 : Payment methods
All orders, whatever their origin, are payable in Euros. The Purchaser is entirely responsible for financial transaction costs, if any.

Article 11.1 : By bankcard (secured)

11.1.1 Validation by means of a bankcard number and expiration date is required for payment in full.
The Site accepts the following cards: CARTE BLEUE, VISA, and MASTERCARD.

11.1.2 The Association uses the Caisse d’Épargne SP PLUS secure payment service, which integrates the SSL security norm.
Confidential data (16-digit bankcard number, expiration date) are transmitted encrypted (encoded) to the CAISSE D’EPARGNE server and not to the Association’s server.
Private data relating to the means of payment are inaccessible to the Association but directly managed by the security department.
The amount of the order is debited when the payment is validated. If the payment centre rejects the card used, the order is automatically cancelled. The Purchaser is asked to keep proof of the transaction, which will be displayed on the screen when payment for the order is effectively made.

Article 11.2 : By check (only for items purchased at the online shop)

11.2.1 Payment by check can be made when the order is validated for all the items available at the Association’s online shop. Any Purchaser paying by check must be a legal resident of France.
The check must be in Euros and drawn on an account in France in the same name as the Purchaser making the order. The check is cashed when it is received.

11.2.2 The check must made out to the order of the Rencontres internationales de la photographie and sent, with the order number, to Rencontres d’Arles, Ticketing and Shop Department, 34 rue du Docteur Fanton BP 30096, 13632 Arles Cedex.

The order will be processed when the check is received.

Article 12 : Private data and cookies

The Purchaser’s private data will in no case be sold, shared or transferred to a third party free of charge. They serve only to process orders and perform a statistical analysis of the makeup of the Association’s public.

12.1.2 The Purchaser must create an account to be able to purchase tickets from the online ticketing office. To receive e-tickets, the Purchaser must provide the following information before validating the order: last name, first name, address, zip code, city, and country of the Purchaser, and an e-mail address to which the tickets must be sent.

If the Purchaser generates a receipt in his or her name, makes a later purchase online or uses an e-mail address to create an account, all the purchases attached to the same e-mail address might be grouped together, allowing the Purchaser to find a record of all his or her purchases in the My Account space.

Article 12.2 : Cookies

The Association uses cookies to facilitate browsing on its Site.
Cookies are files saved on the hard drive of the Purchaser’s computer. Their purpose is to notify the Site of the Purchaser’s visit and record browsing information (pages visited, time of the visit, etc.).

Article 13 : Electronic signature: proof
The validation of an order associated with the authentication procedure and the protection of the messages’ integrity constitutes an electronic signature between the parties having the same value as a handwritten signature.
Computerized logs, kept in the Association’s information systems in reasonable security conditions, will be considered proof of communications, orders and payments between the parties.
Pursuant to article 1348 of the Civil Code, orders and invoices are irreversibly stored on a reliable server in a manner corresponding to a faithful and durable copy.

Article 14 : Entirety of the contract
If for any reason one of the present terms is declared inapplicable, that inapplicability will not affect the application of the other terms. The inapplicable term will be replaced by the nearest possible term.

Article 15 : Responsibility
Neither the Association nor the Purchaser will be held responsible for any breach of the present agreement caused by a case of force majeure out of their control, including, but not limited to, war, riots, insurrection, interruption of transport, import or export problems, a strike, lock-out, shortage, fire, earthquake, storm or flood.
The Association cannot be held responsible for the use of items ordered and delivered. The Purchaser alone is responsible for their use by him or herself or by a third party.

Article 16 : Applicable law: settlement of disputes
The present general terms of sale are subject to French law. Disputes that may arise between the parties over the execution or interpretation of the present contract will, in the event that a friendly settlement cannot be reached, be brought before the courts of Marseille.

Article 17 : Modification of the general terms of sale
The Association reserves the right to adapt or change the present general terms of sale at any time.
In the event of a modification, the general terms of sale in effect on the day of the order will be applied to each order.
