THE CITY AND BEYOND: CAPTURING THE HUMAN

In this stimulating two-day course, the city will be pretext for many explorations to help participants develop a personal practice. They will share their experience and goals before stating their intentions and beginning to shoot. The goal will be to tell the city’s story through the people who live there, work there or are just passing through.

The participants’ approaches can be very different depending on their sensibilities and interests. Playing with silhouettes crossing streets and squares, meeting people to make portraits and recording traces of human activity will be some of the opportunities and avenues to explore.

The photographs made each day will be analyzed and edited, helping the participants narrow down their aesthetic and technical choices, find coherence and gradually create dialogue between the images.

Looking at photographic books will also help stimulate the participants.
