An exceptional course, the first stage of which will be an immersion in the city of Arles and its surroundings, ranging from the winding streets of the city to the vast wilderness of the Camargue, passing through the bustle of the Mediterranean coast.

Accompanied each day by Klavdij Sluban, the participants will make a beautiful getaway together, in the heart and outside of Arles, in search of new spaces to photograph. A roaming on paths, rails and waves, which will take place through varied territories, oscillating between vast natural expanses conducive to contemplation, lively beaches and stimulating cities. Spaces offered to everyone's gaze, where the feeling of profusion can give way in the same day to that of almost nothing, of the void to be translated into images.

The quest will gradually become more personal and inward-looking in these repetitive alternations, contrasts and different atmospheres. Participants will be asked to dig deep down within themselves and find a common denominator based on their sensations and feelings in order to connect everyday experiences to one another, working on what characterizes their gaze, accompanying the sensibility that dictates distances, obsessions and detours. Through daily editing sessions, exchanges, reflections and new starts, they will find their vocabulary and, consequently, develop their photography.

In step two, relying on assistance from veteran assistant editors, they will finalize a personal series that will lead to a slideshow. The editing will become tighter, gain meaning, transmit sensations and find its right form and pace. The completed projects will be shown on a big screen in public on the workshop’s last night.

Workshop in French (with English translation if necessary).
