Ces journées permettront de réaliser un travail photographique cohérent grâce aux judicieux conseils de Julien Pebrel.
En s’appuyant notamment sur des repérages et des contacts réalisés par les Rencontres d’Arles, chacun se concentrera sur un espace déterminé pour en réaliser « un portrait ».
Ainsi, les participants choisiront en fonction de leurs envies, de leurs expériences passées, un territoire à explorer. Un quartier, une rue, un quai, un monument, un stade, un bâtiment, un parc, une friche… le terrain de jeu pourra ainsi avoir des aspects très divers. Tout l’enjeu sera de dépasser ce qui est simplement donné à voir pour trouver un axe de réalisation et faire émerger, par l’image, la spécificité du lieu à travers ses caractéristiques propres mais aussi et très largement à travers les personnes qui le font vivre ou le côtoient. En effet, cette recherche sur un territoire choisi inclura le plus possible la dimension humaine, sociale, s’intéressant aux interactions, aux présences, aux échanges ou simplement aux traces laissées par l’Homme.
Cette démarche prendra également en compte la sensibilité de chacun, que ce soit dans le choix du sujet mais aussi dans la manière de le traiter. Les caractéristiques de chacun seront évoquées, discutées pour préciser une distance, des choix esthétiques et parfois techniques. Cette étape sera dans certain cas nécessaire pour recentrer son approche mais aussi pour questionner certaines habitudes et dépasser alors sa pratique.
Un stage passionnant qui permettra de profiter des nombreuses expériences de Julien Pebrel et de finaliser une série personnelle qui sera exposée le dernier jour.

JULIEN PEBRELJulien Pebrel lives and works in Tbilisi and Paris. After a scientific education, he turned to photography, studying photojournalism at EMI-CFD in Paris. He joined the MYOP Agency in 2011, serving as co-director from 2016 to 2019. In recent years, he has worked in Argentina, Moldova, Russia, Togo, Bulgaria, the Danube Delta, Armenia, Georgia, Abkhazia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Lately, his focus has been Georgia, where he is working on a documentary project about the different strata of Georgian society.
