These two days will be guided by the process of thinking about and picturing a photograph before actually making it. Staging a person, object or oneself will be some of the avenues explored every day. The preparations could be precise and painstaking or, on the contrary, instinctive and spontaneous, simply guided by a preconceived idea.

Professional Photographer & Trainer

A graduate of the École des Beaux-arts in Bordeaux and the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, she was an artist member of the Casa de Velázquez, the French Academy in Madrid, in 2015/2016. Her work on interiors has earned her numerous awards (Photo Folio Review Prize at the Rencontres d’Arles 2017, HSBC Foundation for Photography Prize 2008, Quinzaine photographique nantaise Prize 2006, Bourse du Talent 2005, Collioure Museum of Modern Art Prize 2006, Arca Swiss Prize 2005). She is represented by the Stieglitz19 gallery in Antwerp and Gagliardi e Domke in Turin.

CONTENT:
- Study and analysis of the photographs taken
- Daily shooting
- Technical session with a digital camera
- Definition of a personal subject
- Selections of the photographs taken

BRING:
- A selection of around 30 images attesting to your practice (preferably on paper/format of your choice)
- Your camera, charger and cables
- 2 or 3 memory cards
- A Mac-compatible hard drive or your computer if you wish
- Clothing, bag, shoes, etc. appropriate for spending several hours outdoors.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Number of participants: 4 to 8
- Begins: 9:30 a.m. on the first day
- Ends: 5:00 p.m. on the last day
- Location: historic center near the Arles arena

GOALS:
- Learn the various steps involved in creating a photo series
- Develop a point of view based on a selection of photographs

TEACHING METHOD
- Taught by an instructor (contact us for more information)

EQUIPMENT
- Mac computers
- A photo library (app. 500 references)
- Various kinds of lighting systems, studio accessories, tripod, etc.

EVALUATION
- Private end-of-course interview and evaluation
- The instructor continuously evaluates the personal series
- Oral end-of-course evaluation

FORMALISATION AT THE END OF THE COURSE
- End-of-course certificate
