IMPROVING YOUR PRACTICE
This three-day course simultaneously focuses on experimentation and reflections as a way to help participants leave their comfort zones. The experimentation part will stimulate and deepen the desire (conscious or not) to say something with photography, concentrate on participants’ previous work and include several shooting sessions to identify what is really central and makes each of them different. This will serve as a guideline, pushing them to become clearer in order to keep only what is truly essentiel.
The other part stresses technique and aesthetics with the aim of identifying shortcomings, if any, that might hinder a project’s success. They will be corrected by using settings and accessories as well as, often, simply thinking of new ways to proceed.
This will be an opportunity to question certain personal decisions on framing, managing light and color, distance, etc. The goal will be to make choices not out of habit, lack of knowledge or fear, but in the awareness of what they induce in relation to what one wants to show.
