This intense course will allow participants to weave a photographic story by traveling through a wide variety of places and spaces near the river that crosses the city of Arles. An exploration that will be conducive to the construction of a story oscillating between real and imaginary.

During the first two days, Claudine Doury will be present in the field with the whole group to observe, feel, find a line of research to carry out a personal project.

The Rhône river, with its many faces, redesigned by human activities or bordered by preserved natural expanses will be as many elements that can be approached as subjects in their own right but also as the decorations of a personal, intimate or simple pretext to meet the people who live near these places. The quays and canals, the city, the flows, the industrial remains, the countryside, the authentic districts and villages will be so many opportunities and discoveries, a few minutes from the center of Arles.

The following days will alternate between shooting, editing sessions and discussions with Claudine Doury to find a common thread and build a series.

Starting from the surrounding reality, the personal projects carried out will therefore be open to many approaches. Not hesitating to appeal to the imagination, to hatch it with delicacy, accuracy, playing subtle staging will be as many possibilities offered, as long as they allow to express a personal vision of the world.

The challenge of this immersion will be not to be satisfied with a simple succession of images but to give birth to a coherent corpus, delivering a sensitivity, meaning, with its rhythm and its journey.
