Aurore VALADE

Jouer avec la photographie : du portrait à la mise en scène
This exciting four-day course will be all about portraits, staging, curiosity and a certain form of photographic pleasure.
The course will start with an exploration of the portrait and its multiple facets. The goal will be to make personal, aesthetic and technical choices regarding light, distance and the relationship to the other.

Aurore Valade will carefully guide the participants through shooting sessions and selections of photographs that will allow them to identify the strong points, successes and elements to specify.
Then, the course will open up more widely to other photographic fields. The participants will think of a story, a theme and an idea and find a way to put all that into images. Then they will start staging the photographs, which can be very simple or more complex by introducing props, a set and characters.

The very open approach will try to lift blocks and dispel fears to give participants a chance to explore new things. It will be a question of desire, sensitivity and the various possibilities that photography offers: playing with reality and those around us, having fun with our perception and sometimes with our feelings.

The participants will have many opportunities to define their singularity. Their projects will be based on their desires, experience and personalities.
Their creativity will be stimulated by the discovery of photographers and artists and can also be based on other artistic disciplines.

As the days go by, a personal series will be finalized, if necessary with some retouching and adjustments, notably colorimetric.
The works will then be printed and presented on the last day during an exhibition, ending the course on a final friendly note.
